The number one team from the region will return to the Majors.

With their dominant victory over paiN in round four of IEM Fall North America's group stage, Liquid have secured themselves a spot at the Major, as they can no longer place below second in their group.

For any team that had points coming into the tournament, simply placing in the top five of the event will qualify them for the Major. Liquid came into IEM Fall with 1840 RMR (Regional Major Ranking) points, and will secure themselves a Legends spot going into PGL Stockholm.

Stewie2K will have another shot at a Major victory

The match against paiN was quite easy for the Liquid side, only dropping two rounds in the first half, and closing out the victory 16-4. All members from the American team played well, but it was Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip who ended up as the highest rated on the server.

Liquid are the first team from the North American region to secure a spot at the Major in Sweden, with four more spots left to be decided. Moreover, not only can Liquid not be passed by more than four teams, they cannot be passed by more than two teams, meaning they have also secured a Legends spot.

EXTREMUM and FURIA stand to be the only teams who have the potential to pass Liquid's points total, as their current points the only ones high enough to pass Liquid's minimum in the best case scenario.

There are still six more games to be played on Wednesday, with the potential for some teams to be eliminated from Major contention.
