G2 outplayed HellRaisers on Dust2 (16-8) and FaZe knocked out FlipSid3 on Cobblestone (16-5) to continue both teams' advance at the ESL One Cologne Main Qualifier in Katowice, Poland
The next match at the ESL One Cologne Main Qualifier in Katowice, Poland was on Dust2 between HellRaisers and G2, with the former team having beaten Splyce and the latter TYLOO in the first round of matches in the tournament's Swiss-system.
Despite the setback of the their loss in the ELEAGUE Group B final the week before, G2 immediately continued their rise as of recent weeks as a team with a dominant first half on the map, as the French-Belgian team secured the first pistolround and the first gunround and moved up to 5-0 before finally letting up a round.
ScreaM's recent uptick continues
With Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux having a classic VG-era performance with his AWP on the CT-side of the map, and with Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom hitting a wide portfolio of insane shots, that setback on the sixth round did not amount to much and G2 closed out the first half with a dominant 13-2 score.
A quad kill from HellRaisers captain Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow gave HellRaisers a much needed second pistolround but it was a Richard "shox" Papillon entry and SmithZz cleanup on the first gunround that moved G2 up to a 14-5 deciding score. Despite a few more death throes from HellRaisers, G2 were easily able to close out the map at 16-8 in the end.

The next match was between FaZe and FlipSid3 and it started in a close fashion, as FlipSid3 won the first pistolround and anti-eco afterward, but a quick buy from FaZe quickly helped to equalise the score.
After a technical pause at 4-4, FaZe suddenly kicked into overdrive and Håvard "rain" Nygaard & co. ran ahead to a 10-5 first half thanks to aggressive executes and an overall lacklustre adjustment by FlipSid3.
kioShiMa was not the problem on Cobblestone
A number of FaZe players chipped in to shut down an execute by Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy and his team on the second pistolround and the game quickly spiraled out of control afterwards.
Unable to answer back, and unable to execute anywhere, FlipSid3 were left looking despondent and directionless and it was a supremely confident FaZe who closed out the map 16-5 and advanced further in the qualifier.
