The Arbalet Cup organisers have confirmed to HLTV.org that WeMade FOX will remain in the competition
The Arbalet Cup organisers have confirmed to HLTV.org that WeMade FOX will remain in the competition.
The South Korean team's place in the second round had been in jeopardy after Evil Geniuses complained about Sun Ho "termi" Pyun illegally defusing the bomb during his side's match against UNiTED.
Although EG never launched an official protest, as only the two teams involved in a match can do so, the tournament admins still decided to look into the matter.
Rarely before has an illegal defuse on de_inferno come up in a dispute, which played a major role in the final decision, as the admins did not wish to "create something new and unknown for professional CS players."
"If we talk about professional Counter-Strike and the biggest tournaments' experience in terms of judgement, there was not even one occasion connected with bomb defuses on de_inferno," an Arbalet Cup statement read.
The punishment to be applied to WeMade FOX in this case would range from a yellow card to a default loss, and the organisation has decided for the former.
After reviewing the case, the tournament admins have come to the following conclusions:
1) During the demo watching we have found that WeMadeFoX player "Termi" did an illegal defuse through an object in the 5th round.
2) This defuse did not affect the round outcome, because UNiTED players didn't even check the bomb when "WeMade FOX termi" was defusing it.
3) According to the rules "any player or team caught breaking a rule or performing an infraction will be subject to either a warning, at the minimum, or a forfeit loss, at the discretion of the referee".
4) Official decision for this situation will be the following. We give yellow card for team "WeMade FoX" and all the results of group "C" are not changing.
WeMade FOX will thus proceed into the second round, where they will meet Na´Vi, PinG and forZe.
