LDLC have won PMU Challenge 2018 Finals after defeating Sprout 2-1 in the grand final (8-16 on Train
LDLC have won PMU Challenge 2018 Finals after defeating Sprout 2-1 in the grand final (8-16 on Train, 16-9 on Inferno, and 16-2 on Dust2).
The one-day French LAN event featured four teams which competed in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket. The tournament in Paris had $52,250 on offer.
The first semi-final was between LDLC and Reflex. The French team came back from 13-2 on Nuke to take the win on overtime and sealed their place in the grand final by taking Overpass 16-10 and winning the series 2-0.
Sprout and ALTERNATE aTTaX squared off in the other semi-final which kicked off with Sprout's 16-14 victory on Inferno. Martin "PERCY" Wessel's team also had a good T-side first half on Train and finished the map off 16-11 ahead. With this result, they picked up the series victory and advanced to the grand final.
The grand final between LDLC and Sprout kicked off on Train where Sprout started on the CT-side and won the first half 10-5. Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen & company won the pistol and first weapon rounds in the second half, extending their lead to 14-5. They closed it out with a 16-8 final scoreline.
LDLC were the dominant side after losing the first map as they won 16-9 on Inferno and 16-2 on Dust2, taking the series 2-1 and becoming the champions at PMU Challenge 2018 Finals.
