OG secured at minimum a top-3 finish at cs_summit 6 Europe with a 2-1 victory over HEROIC (22-20 Nuke, 14-16 Inferno, 16-8 Mirage), moving on to the consolidation final.
HEROIC ended up in the lower bracket of cs_summit 6 Europe early, after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Vitality, but took down North and fnatic to set up a meeting with OG. In the match, both teams had their highlight moments, OG looked in control on Nuke but let it slip into overtime at the end, HEROIC were struggling on the CT side of Inferno but stole it away thanks to a stellar T-side. On the decider, Mirage, HEROIC had a strong start for the first time in the series, but after going 5-0, only mustered three more rounds to OG's 16, seeing the Europan mixture advance to the consolidation final.
Nuke started off with HEROIC claiming a 3-1 lead following a force-buy win, but OG's outside lockdown saw them bounce back, 4-3. Winning a round with no players left alive, and then losing the followup, saw HEROIC struggle economically for the rest of the half, as OG gained a commanding 8-4 lead.
Just as it looked like the European mixture was going to run away with it, HEROIC finished the half just 9-6 behind with some A hits, and grabbed the lead following a CT pistol victory. Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen was causing a lot of issues for the Danes on the offense however, and OG bounced back after a Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski 1v2 clutch on B (12-10). His team was first to reach map point, but HEROIC held on and forced overtime, where both teams had their chances. However, OG was the one to come out on top in the end, with Issa "ISSAA" Murad posting 35 kills.
On Inferno, HEROIC were constantly on the back foot, with the force-buy wars setting OG up for a great Terrorist side on their map pick. mantuu was crucial to that, as after HEROIC found their third, the AWPer clutched an unlikely 1v2, helping OG run away with the half (10-5).
The British player nailed three with the USP-S to lock down Banana on the second pistol, but HEROIC won the crucial force that followed, breaking into A, to stay alive in the series. Johannes "b0RUP" Borup and René "TeSeS" Madsen were doing the heavy lifting for HEROIC as they came back to take the lead (12-11). Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen then grabbed a 1v3 ace, propelling the Danes to a 14-11 advantage before their P90 B rush failed and OG bounced back, 14-14. At the final hurdle, Aleksib's men weren't able to keep back HEROIC, losing Inferno 16-14 as a result of an underwhelming CT side.
The series was concluded on Mirage, where HEROIC were off to a 5-0 lead as Terrorists, but Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt's double put a stop to their run and helped his team establish themselves on the defense. The Frenchmen was a key player as OG ran it back, finishing the half with a 9-6 advantage. What early on looked like a map that was going the way of Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen's team was snatched away from them after NBK- and Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså combined for a force buy (11-7), and they lost just one more round before finalizing Mirage dominantly, 16-8.
